Chasing Babies

November 1, 2011
Hey everyone! It's been nearly a year since I updated and I apologize. Life's just so full that my cup runneth over and floodeth the floor lol I'm busy, busy chasing my beautiful babies, pursing my RN, and working part-time as a nurse; but I am still writing. I've written a few new songs since my last post. Last Friday night TSC performed at The Brew and it was great. Things have changed a little for me and, for some reason, I suddenly became comfortable on stage with my music. I can't point to the specific turning point, but I can simply say I got up on stage at the Family Music Center and when I took a breath to start.... BAM!  I was so comfortable it was crazy!  I really appreciate the songwriter's circle. I can't even begin to explain what's it has meant to me and continues to mean in my life. I hope to pass my love of writing on to my children and, so far, Roz has picked up and written a few. I am truly blessed and have so much to be thankful for in my life.
God Bless!

TSC 4th Anniversary Celebration

December 21, 2010
Hi. Last friday was the 4th anniversary celebration at The Brew in Manchester. There was qute a gathering! Lots of new songwriters and even a few first-timers at TSC. Beautiful music, fun, and laughter, always a good time! :) I performed 2 songs but didnt feel comfortable with the new song; maybe next time. I had fun but I have to say I am still very uncomfortable on the stage. It's funny how the enviornment makes such a difference. I have no trouble performing in a relaxing place like at hom...

Suddenly Inspired.

December 2, 2010
So, yesterday I was sitting on the couch and grabbed my guitar. I played a few songs for Cassie while she danced and clapped. Then I was playing around with stuff in my head but nothing would come together to sound right. I was ripping through things I've felt latey and things we're going through or have been through lately. Suddenly, I was strumming and words just poured through my mind. I quickly jotted them down, and its pretty messy, but I have a new song. I'm polishing it up, but I can't...

November 22, 2010
Hey everyone or perhaps just Shawn! :)

I know its been forever since I posted so I'm gonna play catch up. Let's see.... I left Vanderbilt and went back home to MCM. I had many reasons for doing so and I'm quite happy with my decisions. Tommy and I did play at the brew and it was fantasticly fun. I'll post some of those pics at some point. BIG NEWS!!!! We are about 12 weeks pregnant with our third baby! Roz is excited and poor Cassie doesn't have a clue.
I got a beautiful Luna guitar from my swe...

Guess what?

July 12, 2010
So the new coffee shop in town is open and its called The Brew. Shawn called and wanted to know if Tommy and I would play on the Saturday the 24th from 6 to 9pm. We excitedly agreed. I had no idea that the owner Rebecca was the same girl I worked with at Manchester Health Care. ??? Small world isnt it? Excitedly, Tommy and I met at The Brew for pictures so that Rebecca can advertise the event. It was SOOOOO much fun. I love my brother and I love writing with him and its soo cool for us to be ...

TSC @ The Celtic Cup

June 12, 2010
The Celtic is a beautiful establishment! Delicious coffee and great fun to play there. Let's see: I met Rich and another really nice guy (seems there's always someone whose name escapes me lol), then Shawn, Kathy, James, Larry, and Shelia were there. Lots of talent and fun last night!!!! Roz even got up and sang 'Out of Egypt' with me?!?!?! I was soo proud. I am really enjoying the songwriter's circle. The experience is helping me calm my performing nerves down; although, I am still very nerv...

TSC @ Viola Valley Country Store and Restaurant

June 5, 2010
Awesomeness! Tommy went with us and we sang some of our music together. Roz also had a blast running around with Saine and Larry's little girl (sorry I can't remember her name). Marilyn was there and sang "Lips like Elvis" and more of her original stuff. Shawn sang her wonderful songs, too. I sang my new song "You and Me" and got a very good response from the audience. There were lots of people and we had such an excellent time. I can't wait for the next venue that I can attend. I am loving t...

Viola tonight!

June 4, 2010
Tonight is the Viola Country Store venue and we couldn't be more excited. We invited my brother Tommy and he is coming! yahoo! Poor Roz can't find the song she wrote so I got her a notebook to write in hoping she won't lose another. We've been practicing! Hope to see you there! I'll have pics and video to share! No promises on video quality having issues with my ever so cool cellphone. The last one I posted on facebook lost sound for absolutely no reason. lol

Going to Viola!

May 21, 2010

Incase you didn't know; I work weekend nights at the hospital. Therefore, the friday night venues for the TSC are typically out of the question. However; I am pleased to say a coworker friend has agreed to work the first half of the shift on Friday June 4 so that Roz and I may participate in the TSC at Viola Country Store! We are so excited. Roz has written her own song and thinks she wants to perform it, but she's unsure. I am working on a new song titled "You and Me," and I hope to have it ...

TSC @ Sweet Aroma Cafe

May 19, 2010
OMG! Roz and I had a blast tonight. Shawn and James were there and I met Kathy (the founder of TSC), Shelia, a lady whose name I forgot :( but she sang a wonderful song about having lips like Elvis, the guy that brought the PA system to MCM and played harmonica, and a gentlemen who played lead guitar with quite a musical history. Sorry guys, please don't be hurt that I don't remember your names. Anyways, it was a blast. Roz wrote a song today and I hoping we can work on it together. She seems...
